GOING FOR A NEW LOOK

THE VARIOUS PROPERTIES UNDER BERJAYA HOTELS & RESORTS ARE UNDERGOING RENOVATION AND BEING UPGRADED TO CATER TO A GROWING CLIENTELE

Berjaya Hotels & Resorts is currently upgrading the hotels and resorts under its brand to not only cater to its usual travel and leisure clientele but also to independent travelers and corporate clients.

The Berjaya Redang Beach Resort, which is situated on Redang Island (off the east coast of peninsular Malaysia), is a 266-room resort that offers a combination of traditional Malay architectural-styled chalets and modern premier and ocean-front suites in a tropical island paradise.

It now offers new exclusive room categories- 12 Premier Suites and six Premier Rooms. There are also a new private check-in lounge, ocean-view breakfast area and private gymnasium (exclusively for guests staying at Premier Suite and Premier Room); 72 new units of Redang Hillview and 40 units of Redang Seaview deluxe room; and existing Deluxe Seaview chalets upgraded to make way for 12 exclusive Oceanfront Suites.

The 502-room Berjaya Langkawi Beach & Spa Resort, which is located at Burau Bay, now has 25 units of exclusive Premier Chalet on Water with a spacious room. It also has the biggest ballroom on the island, with a capacity to fit 900 persons at one time and equipped with the latest AV equipment. Wi-Fi Internet facilities are also available at the public areas, ballroom and eight other meeting rooms.

You can also enjoy exclusive dining under the stars at the Pahn- Thai restaurant, built on stilts over the water; a new lobby and reception area, three new private villas built on stilts over the waters; and a new gymnasium over water and an infinity pool.

Berjaya Tioman Beach, Golf & Spa Resort has 561 rooms and suites designed to reflect the rich tapestry of Malaysian culture. The resort also boasts of an 18-hole championship golf course. It now has a newly-refurbished Presidential and Tioman Suites, 10 units of Exclusive Family Suites and 25 units of Standard Chalets. The new Challenger Park features a wide range of team-building facilities.

Meanwhile, the Berjaya Times Square Hotel & Convention Centre, which is located at Kuala Lumpur’s central business and entertainment district, has 610 suites.

The property is currently undergoing refurbishment on all 110 hotel suites. The refurbishment includes relocation of the lobby to ground level; refurbishment for the reception, restaurant, lounge and public areas; a new business executive lounge/dining room; and Wi-Fi Internet services in all suites and public areas.

Berjaya Georgetown Hotel, which is located in the commercial hub of Penang, is also carrying out refurbishment for its guest rooms, covering four corporate floors comprising 55 rooms; a new executive lounge and ballroom; and Wi-Fi Internet services in all corporate floor rooms, coffee house, lounge, bar and function room.

Located 787m to 1,060m above sea level, the French-and Japanese-influenced Berjaya Hills spans some 6,400ha of tropical greenery. The new Chateau Spa & Wellness Resort, scheduled to open in the third quarter of this year, is modeled after the medieval Haut Koenigsburg Castle in Alsace, France.

The Chateau Spa & Wellness Resort will have 211 exquisitely-furnished guest rooms featuring a luxurious neo-classical interior design concept. Guests can complement their stay with holistic spa treatments.

There are also a French fine-dining restaurant, a tea-room, a wine and cigar lounge with a complete wine cellar, as well as courtyards and pavilions for private functions and wedding ceremonies.

The new Berjaya Hills Convention Centre has the capacity to accommodate up to 1,000 guests and a banquet facility for 700 persons.
