Make Up Tips and Yummy Pastries for Berjaya Love Me Do! Couples

Kuala Lumpur, 11 February 2009 – After trying on the wedding dress, it was now time for some bridal makeup tips.  Like the previous occasion, this was yet another fun-filled afternoon for the 7 lucky Berjaya Love Me Do! couples.  This time, they congregated at The Loaf, Pavilion and were treated to a makeup tips session by Shu Uemura and a Valentine’s day high tea courtesy of the Loaf.

Frederick Ng, Shu Uemura’s Chief Make Up Artist, filled the cosy room with laughter aplenty thanks to his witty jokes and repartees to the audience’s remarks.

“Some women curl their eyelashes with their mouths hanging open,” the expressive and flamboyant man said as he demonstrated curling his own lashes while flapping his mouth open.  “So remember to keep your mouths closed while curling your lashes.  Show the world that we have some class!”

He continued to dispatch some other valuable tips, emphasizing on the need to maintain healthy skin with a good lifestyle as makeup and skin care products can only do so much to beautify a person – 40% to be exact.  To better illustrate his tips, Frederick proceeded to demonstrate his makeup skills on a model.  Later, the participants were presented with The Loaf’s tantalising Valentine’s offerings – the crispy, buttery and chocolaty Valentine Raspberry & Valentine Orange, the French Cookies Madeline and the exotic Langkawi Sunset Drink.

Thang Han-Ni, Director of Marketing & Communications, Berjaya Hotels & Resorts also announced the names of three couples whose blogs have garnered the most votes thus far:

Kelvin & Kimberly – blogging under the names Teo Seh Kiat & Yap Huay Sean

Cheah & Mindy – blogging under the names Cheah Kei Yuen & Poo Ming Lee

David & Louise – blogging under the names Lee Chun Boon & Louise Chu Wei Shan

When asked about the secret of their success in getting the most votes, the vivacious and slender Kimberly Yap said, “We shared a lot of helpful tips about our experience in getting ready for the bridal photo shoot, choosing the right gown and even tender letters to each other.  We just want to enrich and connect with our readers in some way.”

Kimberly thinks the world of Berjaya Love Me Do! as it gives her the opportunity to spend more time with her fiancé Kelvin who is often busy with work travels.  “This is something that we can do together and I cherish every moment of this contest.”

Another couple, Lim Meng Hong and Khor Hui Ming, who currently rank at No. 4 in terms of votes, have a benevolent reason for wanting to win the contest – they wanted to invite 15 to 20 orphans to their Langkawi beach wedding, should they win.  “I was a Red Cresent Society member at secondary school and visited some welfare homes.  I felt so moved by their sense of homelessness that I promised myself that I would do what I can to bring some joyful moments into their lives,“ Hui Ming said.

And their advice for couples planning to get married? “If you have the chance, join the LoveMeDo contest where everything from A-Z is well planned by experts – for free!  Alternatively, get a good wedding planner. “

The other couples still have some time to catch up as the voting ends on 23 February.  The 7 couples started blogging on 15th January, filling it mainly with jottings and photos taken from the wedding dress tryout session at That Special Occasion, and their pre-wedding shots taken at Berjaya Hills and Berjaya Times Square Hotel & Convention Centre.  Today’s event with Shu Uemura at the Loaf marks the last of the month-long Love Me Do! list of activities.
