DIVE
Dive enthusiasts can enjoy excursions to the nearby
islands lying in the southern tip of Langkawi
which are well known for its colourful underwater
treasure. The nearby Pulau Payar boasts spectacular
beautiful dive sites with Coral Garden being the
most famous among dive enthusiasts.
The Pulau Payar Marine Park, established off
the west coast of Peninsular Malaysia consists
of Pulau Payar, Pulau Kaca, Pulau Lembu and Pulau
Segantang. It is located approximately 15 nautical
miles west of Kuala Kedah, 19 nautical miles south
of Langkawi Island and 32 nautical miles north
of Pulau Pinang. Pulau Payar has been established
as a marine park in 1985 and is the first marine
park in Malaysia. Name after Pulau Payar, the
Payar Island Marine Park teems with a fascinating
diversity of marine life and coral reefs.
The best diving season in Langkawi starts from
February to November.
